Join us on Saturday November 10th for our annual Scouting for Food drive located here at Community Church in our lower lobby. Every year the Loudoun County Boy Scout Troops gather thousands of pounds of food from our county to support local food banks. Messiah’s Market, the food ministry of Community Church is one of these recipients. There are two shifts available, and all actively participating students will receive credit for their community service hours! Last year we sorted and stocked almost 16,000 pounds of food! This event is a family friendly event, and all ages can help with the sorting.
Lunch is provided during this event, we would love your help with the extras – see the sign up genius for all available requests.
Located in the building directly behind our church, across from the football field, is our food outreach ministry to our community. Our church has fed people in need, free of charge, without question for over a decade. Continuing to do so demonstrates that Community Church is helping people to “Meet God, Meet Friends, and Live Life Better.” Messiah's Market is a self-selection pantry, which differs from other food pantries. We believe that this approach allows shoppers to choose the foods that best fit their family’s needs.
Our Hours of Operation are:
Monday & Tuesday | 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Families, singles and youth - all are welcome. Team members serve in the operations (stocking/food pick-ups/purging), hosting, and administration areas. Each area usually involves a 3 hour per week commitment. Days and times vary. If you can help in any way, we can use you! Please contact Anna Bickham if you would like to help - or – attend our GROW class offered every Sunday to find out more!
